Koy John Sauer, 36, of Ridgeville, SC, a SSGT in the US Air Force
Koy was born December 1, 1987, in Worthington, MN. He was the co-owner and operator of Garage Gunz, and he was a member of the VFW and the Palmetto Gun Club. Mr. Sauer was a car and gun enthusiast, and mentored to many special needs children in shooting competitions to raise money for foster children. He was also very supportive of multiple veterans organizations like Potomac Highsland Wounded Warrior Outreach (PHWWO). During his military career, he was deployed multiple times and participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and Spartan Shield to name a few. Mr. Sauer was preceded in death by a sister, Alysia Sauer, and a brother, Kyle Sauer.
Surviving are his significant others, Alison Knox Sauer and Chricel Marie Pace; his mother, Paula Werkman Picon and her husband, Al, of Ocala, FL; a son, Hunter Sauer of Ridgeville; two daughters, Lexie Sauer and Kimber Sauer both of Ridgeville; and his aunts, Lori Manitz and her husband, Dan, of Gillette, WY, and Pamela Werkman of Worthington, MN.
